“Kyoto Isu” is an interactive exhibition where participants can sit leisurely and experience various unique chairs, each carefully crafted by artisans from divergent regions and ancestry.

第5回きょうと椅子に、お越しいただきありがとうございました。

第5回きょうと椅子展を、2024年10月25日（金）から27日（日）の3日間、京都文化博物館別館にて開催いたしました。およそ2,000名もの皆さまにご来場いただき、36組の作り手による約70脚の椅子を座り比べながらお楽しみいただき、出展者一同、心より感謝申し上げます。次回は2年後を目安に開催を予定しております。その際は、ぜひまた会場にお越しください。誠にありがとうございました。

The 5th Kyoto Chair Exhibition was held at the Kyoto Museum of Culture Annex from Friday, October 25th to Sunday, October 27th, 2024. We welcomed around 2,000 visitors, who enjoyed comparing and trying out nearly 70 chairs made by 36 groups of creators. Thanks to everyone’s participation, the event was a meaningful experience for all involved.

The next exhibition is planned for two years from now. We look forward to seeing you again at the venue.

「きょうと椅子」は、地域や世代を超え活動する作家が一つ一つ丁寧に制作した椅子に自由に座り、感じることのできる体感型の展示会です。
会場に並ぶのは,それぞれに工夫と技術が注がれ制作された多様な椅子たちです。様々な作品に座り、作家それぞれの作品に対する思いを知ることは、「椅子」が暮らしの中で持ち得る価値を深める体験になると確信しております。
価値観の多様化が進む世において、ものの「確かな価値」について感じ、「椅子の文化」を育む場として「きょうと椅子」を継続的に開催してまいります。
